General Information
Approximately 90% of world trade is carried out by maritime transport. Logistics is of great importance for ensuring that this transportation process is conducted smoothly. Thanks to low-cost and fast solutions, freight rates are kept at the lowest possible level and the continuity of the supply chain is maintained. In this context, services related to maritime and port management, such as logistics, storage, customs and stowage, need to be planned and completed as a whole.
At this point, individuals who have received sufficient and comprehensive education play a key role.
The Maritime and Port Management Programme is a field that requires comprehensive education not only in line with the requirements of the logistics sector but also in the field of maritime studies. The associate degree programme offered within the university aims to contribute to the maritime sector through a curriculum designed to meet these sectoral needs and through academic staff who possess the necessary academic and sectoral experience in their fields.
University–Industry Cooperation
Within the framework of the protocol signed with Bandırma Çelebi Port Operations, located within the borders of Bandırma district, selected students will be able to complete their internships at the port and, if deemed appropriate, may continue to work there afterwards.
In addition, through the curriculum prepared for the examination for the professional qualification certificate of Port Operations Staff / Tally Clerk, students will be prepared for this theoretical and performance-based examination upon graduation.
Employment Areas
Graduates of the Maritime and Port Management Programme may be employed in various maritime-related companies, shipowner companies, shipping agencies, the maritime departments of logistics companies, ports, and relevant public institutions and organisations.
