The 1st Social Responsibility Workshop, organized by Kırklareli University, was held within the scope of the 10th anniversary activities of the Trakya Universities Union. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Süleyman Özdemir, TÜB Term President and Kırklareli University Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Şengörur, Rector of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Prof. Dr. Sedat Murat, Rector of Trakya University Prof. Dr. Erhan Tabakoğlu, Secretary General of the Thrace Universities Union, Dr. Instructor Muhammet Atalay, vice-rectors and academic and administrative staff of the member universities of the Thrace Universities Association attended.
Making the opening and presentation speech of the workshop, Kırklareli University Vice Rector for Social Responsibility Studies Prof. Dr. Nurettin Aka pointed out that social responsibility should be carried out under a corporate roof in universities and gave examples of the studies carried out in universities on this subject.
After the opening speech, our Rector Prof. Dr. Süleyman Özdemir also gave a speech. In his speech, our Rector stated that he attaches great importance to social responsibility studies, that the 2021-2022 academic year has been declared as the year of social responsibility for our University, and that our students carry out social responsibility projects within the scope of the volunteering course. Emphasizing the increasing importance of social responsibility both in our country and in the world, our Rector Prof. Dr. Süleyman Özdemir said that social responsibility studies are a very important criterion both in the education life of students and in their recruitment processes, that such studies will be an indispensable element of universities in the near future and that important studies are being carried out in this field as TÜB.

The workshop was held under the title of “Social Responsibility Studies Practice Examples” by Assoc. Dr. Fatih Altun from Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Assoc. Dr. Hicran Özlem Ilgın from Trakya University, Dr. Instructor Member Ertan Varlı, Lecturer from Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University. See. Serkan Aydın and Lecturer from Kırklareli University. See.
